This Zippo^®’s lighter is inspired by the military history of lighters made by Zippo for the United States Armed Forces during World War II. During this period, rare metal was reserved only for the strategic military industry; lighters at that time were made from inferior materials. To prevent corrosion, Zippo lighters were given a protective Black Crackle anti-corrosion coating, which cured in a high-temperature oven after application. This created an interesting coarse grain effect on the surface. The 26075 Black Crackle™ lighter replicates this historic protective coating, but is already manufactured to the maximum quality requirements of today.
