Description

Compass is a simple device for orientation and navigation in the field. The basis is a compass for determining cardinal points, supplemented by a rotary protractor for measuring azimuth. The magnetic arrow is rotated in the direction of magnetic north and south due to the earth's magnetic field. The first compass (specifically a liquid compass) was built by the Czech inventor Josef Ressel.

The base is a compass with an arrow stored in liquid and mounted on a transparent plastic plate with a hinge for tilting the visor. The liquid increases the damping of the arrow movement and improves the steadiness of the arrow movement.

The plate has a 55 mm / 3 inch ruler on the sides, a scale of 1:25000 km / 1:63360 mile / 1:24000 mile and a magnifying glass. Included is a lanyard to allow the compass to be hung around the neck.
