The M1 Garand or M1 Rifle was the standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War. The M1 rifle was named after its Canadian-American designer, John Garand. It was the first standard-issue semi-automatic military rifle. The M1 replaced the bolt-action M1903 Springfield as the standard U.S. service rifle in 1936, and in the late 50's was replaced M14 rifle. The Garand is still used by drill teams and military honor guards.
The G&G replica from the Advanced series is a superbly manufactured weapon with a high-quality dark wood stock with a beautiful pattern.
All other parts of the gun are metal - receiver, slide, bolt, outer barrel, sling swivels, sights, butt plate, trigger guard, safety. You just won't find plastic here. Thanks to the wood used, shooting is very quiet and nothing resonates. The workmanship of the weapon is at an exemplary level, as we are used to with G&G.
Sights are adjustable - rear sight side and elevation, front sight only side. The gun has a functional mechanical safety protruding through the bow, just like the original. The magazine catch can be found on the left side of the weapon. The low-cap magazine has a capacity of 20 BBs and is very unconventionally designed. However, this makes it fit directly on the hop-up chamber and no BB loading ramp is needed. The correct external placement of the magazine on the gun is also a bonus. You will also find a bayonet slip-on bracket on the outer barrel.
At the heart of the gun is a modified V7 gearbox with 8mm ball bearings and a G&G 18000 RPM motor. The electronics in the weapon are the G&G ETU, which takes care of the proper power supply, and the electronic trigger. The battery is inserted directly into the stock when the butt plate door is opened. The door is a bit narrower, so the Large block unfortunately won't fit in the stock, but the appropriate battery is an 11.1V Li-Po (see Related products). The hop-up chamber with rotating ring is metal, accessible by pulling the bolt lever.
M1 Garand from G&G is a unique piece of weapon, which has its price, but it corresponds to the quality of workmanship and unusualness of the model.
