On the cable is a console with a PTT key and microphone. The console has a clip for attaching to gear/clothing. Sound is transmitted from the adapter to the ear acoustically through a transparent tube. It does not produce electromagnetic radiation while giving you the appearance of a secret service agent or bodyguard. The earpiece/speaker easily fits in your ear (left or right), keeping your calls private. Included are 2 sizes of ear plug. The headset has a classic K-plug connector.
