Headlamp HM65R, LED Cree, 1400lm, Li-Ion, rechargeable
The Fenix HM65R rechargeable headlamp features a lightweight magnesium alloy construction, high water and drop resistance, a unique dual reflector design and a total output of up to 1400 lumens.
One reflector produces a well-focused light beam with a range of up to 163 meters, and the second reflector has a very wide and smooth light path. The main beam reflector has a lumen output of up to 1000 lumens, while the wide cone reflector offers a maximum output of 400 lumens and a neutral light tint. The control of the two LEDs is independent of each other, the light from the two reflectors can be freely combined to achieve a luminous flux of up to 1400 lumens. The main reflector offers four light levels and the wide reflector three modes. It uses one 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh for power, which is included in the package and is charged via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. In an emergency, the headlamp can be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries.
The headlamp is made of magnesium alloy, which is one third lighter than aluminium. Its construction is fully dustproof and waterproof to a depth of 2 meters according to IP68 standard, and also shockproof against falls from a height of 2 meters. The headlamp is also equipped with an extended endurance function. With prolonged use of each light mode, the headlamp gradually reduces power in small increments to achieve longer light duration. The selectable light cone shape makes this model one of the best and most versatile rechargeable headlamps on the market. The headlamp is suitable for professional use, various sports activities (hiking, camping, running, cycling, skiing), underground, fishing and other uses. Guaranteed to serve you well in any situation!
All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproof, range and shockproof) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.
Parameters
- The light source in the main reflector is a Cree XM-L2 U2 LED, the light source in the wide reflector is a Cree XP-G2 R5 with a warmer shade of light, both with a lifetime of 50000 h of illumination.
- 1000 lumens (2 hours) -> 400 lumens (22 hours) -> 130 lumens (48 hours) -> 50 lumens (97 hours).
- Wide reflector: 400 lumens (21 hours) -> 130 lumens (50 hours) -> 8 lumens (300 hours).
- The main reflector produces a light cone with a range of 163 metres (6677 cd), the wide reflector shines up to 55 metres (762 cd).
- The headlamp comes with a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a 3400mAh capacity.
- Any Fenix 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery from our range can be purchased as a replacement battery.
- Alternatively, two disposable CR123A lithium batteries can be used for power (do not attempt to recharge them in the headlamp).
- Due to the mechanical protection against reverse polarity, the batteries must have a protruding positive terminal. Older Fenix batteries with a flat plus pole cannot therefore be used.
- Digital power control with battery life extension function, indication of battery charge status.
- Charging via USB-C connector, charging time for a fully discharged battery is approx. 2.5 hours.
- Two switches for convenient operation and with the possibility of locking against accidental switching on in the luggage.
- The headlamp can be tilted in several steps to set the desired direction of light.
- Made of lightweight and durable magnesium alloy.
- Shockproof against falls from a height of 2 metres.
- Weight 147 grams.
- Waterproof and dustproof according to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes).
- Tempered ultra clear glass lens with anti-reflective surface.
- Fenix ALG-03 or ALG-04 mount can be purchased for easy attachment to helmet.
Use
There may be a black insulating cap on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
The main headlight is switched on by holding the right button (approx. 0.5 s), the wide headlight is switched on by holding the left button (0.5 s). The light functions are switched by briefly pressing the corresponding button. After switching off, the headlamp remembers the last set mode. Both headlights can be switched on at the same time.
Battery indication - after a short press of any button (the headlamp must be switched off) the LED battery indicator between the buttons is activated. Four lit LEDs indicate that the battery is more than 80% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED indicates that the battery is less than 20% charged.
The control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous switching on e.g. when transporting in luggage - in the off state press both buttons and hold them for min 3 seconds, then the headlamp will flash to indicate locking. To unlock, both buttons must be held down again for three seconds.
Low battery warning - when the voltage drops below a certain threshold, it automatically switches to a lower power mode, if the battery status indicator starts flashing during the light, the battery is almost dead.
Charging: Unclip the USB-C connector cover and plug in the included charging cable, plug the other end of the cable into a computer, power bank or USB mains or car adapter (not included). During charging, status LEDs show the charging progress. When charging is complete, all four are lit. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to charge a fully discharged battery.
Notice
- Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
- Use only high quality Li-ion 18650 batteries, if using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the headlamp.
- If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is dead - charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the headlamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
