SorboPad for AEG cylinder head.
Sorbothane is the special material that was developed for impact and vibration absorption, patented and manufactured in the USA. It is fantastic for use as the impact pad for AEG or spring action rifles pistons. It comes with two huge benefits:/P>
- it helps with ZnAl gearbox shells lifetime
- a good way to make your rifle more silent
SorboPad is made in four thicknesses for optimal AOE adjustment. Thicknesses listed 1 mm PU covering included:
- 3,5 mm
- 4,2 mm
- 5,8 mm
- 7,4 mm
SorboPad is also made in four hardnesses for ideal silent effect and vitality:
- 40 Duro - black colour - for springs of up to SP110 strength
- 50 Duro - grey colour - for springs of up to SP120 strength
- 60 Duro - blue colour - for springs of up to SP130 strength
- 70 Duro - black colour - for springs of up to SP140 strength
- For high fire rate and high-capacity guns (for example machine guns), where 100+BB bursts can be expected, we recommend using a spring one level weaker than stated above (e.g. maximum spring strength of SP120 for 60 Duro hardness)
- For DMR builds where just SEMI is expected one level harder spring can be setted
- For example 60 Duro: standard AEG up to SP130, machine gun SP120, DMR SP140
Annulus diameter is 20 x 6 mm, ideal in combination with EPeS AEG cylinder head Mk.II. 1 mm thickness PU covering and 3M 200MP self-adhesive included.
AOE (Angle Of Engagement)
The Angle of Engagement is an angle at which the first tooth of the piston toothing comes into contact with the toothing of the sector gear. If the AOE is incorrectly adjusted, the piston guiding rails and the first piston tooth are subjected to increased wear.
In pistons with metal toothing, this can lead to complete breakaway of the tooth. The correct AOE adjustment significantly increases the lifetime of a piston. There are two ways to perform AOE adjustment – by placing a washer under the piston head, or by using a thicker impact rubber pad on the cylinder head. Both methods move the piston towards the spring guide, lowering the teeth AOE.
In general, using the thicker impact rubber pad is the better solution. With a thicker pad, the impact of the piston head is more damped and there's no increase of the piston's weight, which would otherwise lead to increased wear of the gearbox.
EPeS
The EPeS airsoft brand was established in early 2015 and in 2017 the company Enhanced Performance Shooting, s.r.o. was founded. Later renamed to Epes evolution s.r.o. in 2021.
EPeS is mainly engaged in the design and manufacture of precision parts for airsoft guns. The priority is the production of parts that are missing on the market, or bringing innovation and improvement of standard, commonly available parts. All production and development are carried out in the Czech Republic.
