Petzl is a French family-owned company founded in 1970 and based in Grenoble. The founding father was caving pioneer Fernand Petzl, who invented and manufactured his own tools and equipment for his expeditions. In 1968 he launched his first products and 2 years later the Petzl company was officially founded. Nowadays, Petzl produces top quality equipment for sport and professional use.
