Rechargeable USB-C battery AA 2200 mAh (Li-ion)

The Fenix AA 2200 mAh (ARB-L14-2200U) rechargeable battery serves as a replacement for classic AA alkaline batteries. Inside is a Li-ion cell equipped with control electronics that maintains a fixed output voltage of 1.5 V for the first 70-80% of capacity, and then a constant 1.2 V until depleted. The battery is therefore particularly suitable for devices that are sensitive to voltage levels and, for example, do not work correctly or only for a short time with rechargeable NiMH batteries. The battery capacity is 2200 mAh (3.3 Wh, which corresponds to a capacity of 2750 mAh in NiMH).

The battery charges only via the built-in USB-C connector, so it can be charged e.g., from a computer, a mobile phone charger, a power bank, or another USB source. It cannot be charged in a classic charger.

The battery also has built-in protection against total discharge and short circuits (maximum continuous discharge current is approx. 3 A). The battery is therefore suitable, for example, for cameras, GPS navigations, laboratory instruments, and other devices. It is also compatible with all Fenix headlamps and flashlights powered by AA batteries, such as the Fenix E12, Fenix E20, Fenix LD12R, Fenix LD22, Fenix HM23, and Fenix HP16R models.

When using this battery, it is necessary to take into account that the remaining capacity cannot be reliably determined by the output voltage. During the first 70-80%, the voltage remains constant at 1.5 V, and only then does it drop to 1.2 V under load. It depends on how the device evaluates the voltage reduction from 1.5 V to 1.2 V when the remaining battery capacity drops to 20-30%. In any case, when the battery is completely discharged, its voltage will drop suddenly from 1.2 V to 0 V.

CHARGING VIA USB-C CONNECTOR

Plug the USB cable into the side USB-C connector; during charging, the indicator light on the top of the battery glows red. Once full charge is reached, it glows blue.
