The development of rechargeable Li-Po (Lithium-Polymer) / Li-Ion (Lithium-Ion) batteries is constantly progressing, and the hobby of airsoft naturally could not be left behind.

What are the advantages of Li-Po / Li-Ion batteries?

• no memory effect
• very low self-discharge rate, about 3–5% per month (compared to approx. 10–15% for Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh)
• low weight and high energy density – half the weight with equal or higher capacity compared to Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh cells
• very compact size while maintaining high discharge rates
• can be charged frequently without prior discharging
• wider temperature range for safe operation compared to Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh

Please note that Li-Po batteries must not be discharged below 3V per cell and should not be charged above 4.2V per cell. If a cell is discharged (e.g., long-term storage) below 3V or overcharged beyond 4.2V, an irreversible chemical reaction occurs, rendering the battery unusable — such damage is not covered by warranty. Always use dedicated Li-Po chargers with a quality balancer. In this case, it is not worth saving money on the charger. Higher current and voltage of Li-Po batteries transfer more energy to the motor and the entire gearbox. It is ESSENTIAL that the gearbox and internal parts are prepared for this load (otherwise rapid wear of internal components will occur — such damage is not covered by warranty). It is not recommended to use Li-Po batteries in so-called stock guns (without upgrade).
