The Schofield (Model 3) was a single-action, cartridge-firing, top-break revolver produced by Smith & Wesson from circa 1870 to 1915.
S&W Model 3 was produced in several variations and sub-variations, including both the "Russian Model" and the "Schofield" model, named after Major George W. Schofield, who made his own modifications to the Model 3 to meet his perceptions of the Cavalry's needs. Smith & Wesson incorporated these modifications into an 1875 design they named after the Major, planning to obtain significant military contracts for the new revolver.
The CO2 powered Schofield Airsoft gun is an ultra-realistic replica of the famed revolver used by many of the great gunmen of the Old West. There are several things that will surprise you when you hold this beautiful revolver replica in your hand. First, it's weight. Revolver is made of metal, only the grip is made of ABS plastic with wood imitation. The weight of 1,06 kg is almost the same as the original (1,3kg).
Another thing is a distressed black finish - the edges and exposed areas are “scuffed”. The revolver has a beautiful patina and you are wondering if there is a truly historical piece in front of you.
And thirdly, it is the typical S&W top-break ejection system itself. This system has been overcome, but it still has its charm. To replace the cartridges, you need to "break" the weapon. Swing the rear sight toward you. This will release the barrel with the cylinder and you have an access to the cartridges. Each cartridge carries one BB.
Schofield is the single-action revolver as well as the original. You need to cock the hammer (when cocking the hammer the cylinder rotate to next position at the same time) and then you can press the trigger / shoot.
The revolver uses a CO2 cartridge as a propellant that is inserted into the grip. Just remove the left side of the grip (there is allen key integrated into the grip). Due to the absence of blowback, all gas is used for the shot. Along with CO2 performance Schofield gains a extremely high muzzle velocity 495 FPS (150 m/s).
There are fixed sights the same as original. The firing pin safety is placed on the grip. The revolver has no hop-up system.
If you like the Wild West and you want to own the same gun as Billy the Kid, Jesse James or Theodore Roosevelt, ASG's Schofield is the best choice for you.
